Richard Barry is a retired railroad contractor and real estate investor. Railroad contracting began when he bought his grandfather‘s company, Frank Tartaglia Incorporated in the early 1980s .For 44 years, he built and repaired railroad tracks throughout five states in the northeast.
As part of the business, he leased heavy equipment and built vehicles that ran on the railroad tracks. These vehicles were called Hi-rail equipment. Much of it was leased out, however, some was purchased. As an additional interest he bought buildings and redeveloped commercial space throughout central New York. Still owning three commercial properties in Central New York.
Hobbies, water, skiing, snow, skiing, sailing, and collecting special interest, cars and boats. He is a licensed helicopter pilot. Married for 47 years two sons one who has passed and one who lives in Texas he is the recipient of the purple and gold award from Christian Brothers Academy and donate heavily to charities throughout the country educational background the Manlius, military academy, Onondaga community college.
